My DS is 9 months. I have been making most of his foods (fruits, veggies etc). When people refer to table food for a baby, what foods are they talking about? I am not a huge cook, so I want to start cooking what he can eat. He only has his two bottom teeth, so I want to make sure whatever I give him he can handle. What were the first few table foods you fed your DC's? TIA!

You can do pasta, chicken, fruits and veggies...basically anything that is soft enough for your DS to be able to gum. My DS only had 2 teeth when we started....I just made sure anything was in tiny tiny pieces. He is not a big fan of table food yet but we keep giving him bits with his regualr baby food.

When it's time for meat we gave our kids pot roast, boiled chicken....anything soft enough, or that i could shred. We always gave cooked carrots, beans, etc on their trays so they could try to feed themselves. avocado is a great baby food--it was both of my kids' first foods.

i agree.. first table foods were super soft things she could hold and mush up inside her mouth. carrots, green beans, peas. She hated meats but loved salmon. pasta is good too
