closing question
How long before the closing will we be told how much money to bring?
I know we should bring our checkbook, too, for anything extra, etc. -- but when can we expect to know how much to bring for closing costs, etc.?
Our lawyer said she'll tell us the exact amount and we bring 1 certified check for that. I'm just curious if we can expect to find out a day before, a week before, or what.

We closed on a Monday and were told how much to bring the Friday before.

I did not close yet, but I heard it is always last minute that you find out.
Some people said, the morning of closing they found out!

We found out the afternoon before, so I had to leave work early to get to the bank before they closed.

I had to get my license changed before I went to close. What a PITA!!! I hadn't changed my license to my married name yet and the way we filled out the contract I had to change my last name.  But it all worked out in the end.
We were told the day before.

All the paperwork is in my maiden name... I'm anxious to close already so I can change my name. The longer I wait, the more confusion it will cause at work! (I work in a huge office)

We closed on a Monday morning and we were told one week prior what the cost would be.
We were told to bring a check book tho just in case - we only had to pay extra for the oil delivery that occurred that week.
