Closed on our refinance today..........
And we are saving $534 a month 
Went from a rate of 6.625% to 4.5%
The process took forever, we started in August. They are so backed up b/c of the low rates - but it was worth the wait.

I was just going to ask how long it took you. We started the process in August as well and are still waiting. We are going from 6.375 to 4.875. After the PMI, we'll be saving $400.

We are paying the 6.625 right now, and just started the process to re-finance...I would love it...if it saved us this much!!

It is US Bank, we already had our mortgage with them and we did a streamline.
They told me 30-45 days in the beginning and it took about 120!

Buckle up - it's a LONG road with them - we submitted our app Sept. 6th and are still waiting to hear!
We were quoted a 60 day turnaround - guess they under estimated by a bit

Thankfully we didn't - we would have lost the $$ for the lock. We had planned on locking for a 30 day when we got the commitment letter from them and now I am glad that we didn't do that either. Rates have gone up so much that we are actually starting to think about not doing it.
We were advised to do a 60 day lock if we were going to at application. We are currently at day 99 and if we were to schedule today, the absolute earliest we could close would be the 27th since our rate will be locked in 8 business days before closing

US Bank extended our rate since they were the ones that were taking so long.

Our was with the same bank, and we closed at home.

We are using the same bank that's holding the mortgage. Which is why I'm so annoyned that it's taking so long.
I called them (TFCU) yesterday and they still didn't have an answer for me. I told them I'm ready to stop the process and go some place else.
She told me she would have someone call me back.
Almost 11am today and I still haven't heard from anyone 
Are you using your same bank?

Yes, Wells Fargo. They have a 3-step refi program. It was actually very easy.

Use Quicken loans. They are really fast and good. We plan to refi with them soon.
