Clomid CD help
Okay, this might get confusing, but I can't figure it out myself, so I'm hoping you can help.
I am most likely starting provera (to get AF) and metformin tonight to prepare for my first clomid cycle.
If I start the meds tonight, I am figuring since I take provera for 10 days, I should be finished on January 31 with expected AF due around February 3 (my birthday ) Is this correct? I would then start clomid on CD 3 (right?) which would be about February 5 and I would take it until CD 7, February 9th. So finally, here is my question....What CDs would be required for me to go in for monitoring while taking the clomid, and after? I am going away on February 18 until the 21st (which would probably be CD 16 to CD 19).
I want to know if I am going to be around to have monitoring done if I go away on or around CD 16.
TIA

Re: Clomid CD help
Well, I am starting clomid today and going in on the 31st for blood and sono, so CD12 for me. Many times they will have you in on CD10, but I am a late ovulater.
So I think you will be fine for your first appointment post-clomid. Depending on what is happening then will determine your next appointment. Are you getting a trigger or are you ovulating naturally?

Re: Clomid CD help
I am going naturally for the first cycle on clomid. This whole thing is sooo new to me!
If I am okay (according to my time line), what happens after you go on CD10-12 for monitoring? Do we BD during a certain time frame and then start the 2WW? Or is there more monitoring done?

Re: Clomid CD help
Well, I've never done it without trigger, but I believe that once you have follies that are big enough to release an egg they will tell you to use OPKs to determine when you are having a surge and then to BD. I would also temp so you can see when you ovulated.
They should bring you back in a week after you ovulate to test your progesterone. This test will see if you did ovulate and if your progesterone is at a good level.

Re: Clomid CD help
This is how my clomid cycles went:
Bloodwork & Sono CD3 CD3-7 Clomid CD10-? OPKs
I only went in for monitoring if I either got a +OPK or one that looked like it could be + In my case, I O very late, and tend to get false positives on my OPKs (which was the case my last cycle). I usually end up going back for my first sono and bloodwork on or about CD17, based on the size of my follies at that point, they tell me to come back two days later and in most cases, I end up with my trigger around CD21.
