Clomid being added to protocol-side effects?
I am going to start a new IVF cycle in about a week and was told that the RE is adding clomid to the protocols. For my previous cycles, I did follistim/menopur and the vivelle patches.
Anybody get side effects with clomid? Why add it now when they haven't in the past?

I used Clomid for IUIs, not IVF. But when I was on it I had severe migraines so I'd never take it again. But it works well for many people.

not sure why they decided to do it for this cycle, I think u can call and ask. But every cycle the protocol does change as the Dr tries to adjust to the way ur body reacts/reacted.
I had very bad allergies to Clomid (took it for IUI). each time I took it I got really sick - very bad virus, conjectivitus and some other stuff. it wasnt determined for sure that it was due to Clomid but each 3 times I took it I ended up very sick and couldnt go thru with IUI as I had to go on antibiotic. could have maybe effected my immune system? not sure. but I am sure most ppl dont have this type of reaction.

The only side effects I had from Clomid was bloating and hot flashes. But this was for IUis, not IVF.

I have heard it being used in IVF protocols. I know Dr. Davis at Cornell uses it and so does Dr. Grifo at NYU. I have never had any side effects with it but it is known to thin the lining.
