CLOMID
Hi guys so we started clomid this month in an attempt to induce ovulation, I was wondering if anyone had any experiences positive or negative with it. I took my first pill on day 3 and my last on day 8 (today) if I understand my doc correctly ovulation should happen sometime between CD14-21 so we'll be spending that week BDing fingers crossed for ovulation!!!!!

Re: CLOMID
is your doctor monitoring you? how are you tracking ovulation?
i did one round of 50mg clomid but it had no effect. i have PCOS with high LH and due to the high LH I was never going to ovulate on my own - clomid or not. my ob/gyn prescribed it and sent me on my way - i wanted to be monitored to see if it was working so I found an RE that cycle. im glad i did because it didnt work and had i stayed with the ob/gyn i wouldve had a much longer and more frustrating cycle waiting for an O that was never coming..

Re: CLOMID
Thanks flower, for now I'm with my OB/GYN but he is monitoring me with bw on CD 1, 10 and 21, he said we would take more blood after that if the last one does't show a surge. I'm doing the OPKs at home but as you know they can be little liars w/PCOS since we get that LH surge and sometimes no eggie. Anyway I have a consult appt with an RE so I'll soon be switching over

Re: CLOMID
I did 2 rounds of Clomid. The first round was 50 mg and had no effect whatsoever. We moved up to 100mg and I experienced some not so pleasant side effects (headaches, mood swings, blurry viison, etc.). Due to the blurry vision, my RE will no longer be putting me on Clomid. If you experience blurry vision, I would let your doctor know.
Good Luck!!

Re: CLOMID
I used Clomid twice (50 mg both times), and got PG both times. First time was a m/c, second time resulted in my current pregnancy which is now about 19 weeks. Both were singleton pregnancies. I would say just make sure you are closely monitored because Clomid may thin out your lining which is not a good thing. Good luck!

Re: CLOMID
My DS was the result of a Clomid IUI cycle (#3), while under the care of an RE
Prior to seeing the RE, I was under the care of an OBGYN, for 7 cycles of timed BD and Clomid....I didn't leave there because I was too comfortable and kick myself every day for it...I was not properly monitored with sonograms, was never sent for a HSG to check that my tubes were clear...He also never told me that Clomid has a tendency to dry your CM ( which is what happened to me), so all the timed BD in the world probably would not have gotten me PG...From what I have been told, they do not reccomend being on Clomid for more than 12 cycles so I am very happy that I saw the RE when I did...
Glad to hear that you have a consult with an RE...They truly are the right ones to see to help you achieve a pregancy when you know there is an underlying issue ( I have PCOS as well)Hopefully you will not need to see them and it will happen this month
Best of luck !!!

Re: CLOMID
Clomid 150mg got me to ovulate. I was always a later ovulator - anywhere between CD16-21. GL!
