clomid?

Ok went to the dr today with a chemical pregnancy. She gave me Clomid 50mg. Do you think that the 50mg will work? Or do you think i need higher?

Re: clomid?

it may work for your body. I went to 150 mg and my largest follie was 9mm. It all really depends on your body and the way it will react to the Clomid. Some ladies get pregnant with 50mg and some (like myself) don't respond to it at all.

Good luck though!

Everyone responds differently. Standard is to start at 50mg and work up. They only want you to produce a few follicles. I haven't really found any rhyme or reason to who what dosage works for. GL!

Yes I have PCOS. That was the only fertility factor we were dealing with. I didnt have a period for almost 14 weeks so they started me on Provera and then Clomid to help me ovulate since i clearly was not on my own.

I was diagnosed with it in my teens and there were some instances where I would get my period every 3 months and sometimes not until 9 months later.

I guess my body needed a little jump start to get things working againChat Icon

Yes I have PCOS you sound just like me when i was a teen. That was the only fertility factor we were dealing with. I didnt have a period for almost 14 weeks so they started me on Provera and then Clomid to help me ovulate since i clearly was not on my own.

i'm sorry about your chemical
I had a m/c back in February. And 14 weeks later, I didn't have a period. I took Provera (which i was afraid to at first thinking that AF would be a horror show) and turns out I had a normal AF, lasting only about 5 -6 days. I started Clomid on CD 5?? i think it was of that same cycle. I ovulated and then had just 1 IUI and 8 days later I was pregnant

eta-my RE gave me the option of just BDing on our own that cycle or having the IUI. I said just go ahead with the IUI b/c I wanted to better my chances! And it worked
