Cleaning water cooler - UPDATE - HELP!!

Without using bleach? What should I use?

UPDATE: Ok, I cleaned it with vinegar. I flushed it out like 10 times till it didn't taste like vinegar... until we put the water on the cooler and turned it on. Now there is a faint hint of vinegar smell and taste. HELP!!

That is what I was thinking of but Im scared of not getting all the vinegar our and drinking vinegar tasting water... that's better than bleach I guessChat Icon Does it work if you only use cold water?? Should I mix it with hot water?

Re: Cleaning water cooler

I know you can do it for coffee pots,,,,I would flush with hot water if you can. If not really flush it so you don't taste it.

I don't know what else would work except to keep flushing the cooler.

why cant you handle bleach??

I dont think you need to touch it....just pour it into a bucket and add the water...then pour it into your cooler....

ohhh...well I dont know what to tell ya. You should never have cleaned anything you are going tio drink from with vinegar.....its hard to get rid of the smell/taste. Looks like you will have to wait until you husband gets home.

Rinse with HOT water with some lemon slices in it. Should get rid of the vinegar smell.
