Cleaning suggestion, please...
Anyone have any tips on (safely/neatly/quickly) cleaning a really gross oven?
TIA!
P.S. Please forgive if this has been posted recently. I am not on much.

Re: Cleaning suggestion, please...
When we were moving out of our apt, I used two things to clean the oven to get our deposit back:
1. The new cleaning erasers. The best brand is by mr. Clean. Just run under water and then scrub with it, it picks up everything, it seems.
2. I used Fantastic cleaning spray with a scrub brush as well for the hard stuff.

Re: Cleaning suggestion, please...
is it a self clean oven?
If not, get the easy off stuff...you spray it on and it will work on the hard stuff then you wipe it off.
If its a self clean one....do NOT use any chemicals in it...us the self-clean function on the stove

Slight dissagreement, Easy Off Makes a "Safe with Self Cleaning Oven" can. Use that, which is what we did.
Easy off is the best

Easy off is the best
As long as you don't use the self-cleaning function. Meaning use the cleaner as you would with a regular oven (that doesn't have the self-clean option).
Which seems sort of wasteful to me

nope, according to the can (I've done it twice already) you use the self cleaning option AND the spray. It was amazing, better than just the self cleaning option by itself. The directions are right on the can, you use both together.

Easy Off...works wonders!
ITA I let it sit overnight and the next day all the gunk came right off. I had a little scrubbing in some spots but between the easy off and steel wool everything came off.

Hi!
The easiest way for me, is to have DH do it! We use one fo the Easy Off products as well.
There is one you can use on a cold oven, but you have to let it sit longer.
