I'm on a cleaning whirlwind and it feels so good. Chat Icon I'm also organizing stuff & chucking out the old.

Maybe it's because it's a new year or maybe because it's winter and there's not much going on.

Ever go through this phase? I haven't in a long time, but I finally have the energy to do it.

Also, if you have any organizing/cleaning tips, I'd love to hear them.

Yes! I love doing that...best things I did were to get lazy susans for the cabinets for vinegars, oils, etc. and those madesmart boxes from either Target or BBB to keep drawers and under the sink organized..I also got a shoebox sized drawer for sponges, etc. for under the sink..I also have spice racks in one of my drawers and an in drawer knife rack..there are a lot of drawers in my kitchen..LOL...if you have specific, questions, ask..we've definitely been doing this for a while around here LOL

Good for you!!

Can you share what you searched for? I looked under "storage bins" and "containers" with no luck.

Cleaning/organizing

I have been going through the same thing since the new year! Between donating so many things to charity and having so much more room it feels great! I usually do one room at a time otherwise it gets very confusing and overwhelming. It might take a few weeks, but it is definitely worth it!

Re: Cleaning/organizing

This is me right now. For the first time I ever I am not just organizing junk, I'm actually tossing stuff I never used. I have a good 8 garbage bags full of stuff that went to the trash, 2 bags full of clothes I donated, and a back trunk full of toys that were also donated. Feels so good. I always had an issue trying to keep a clean house. One day it hit me, things are piled up because they have no home - so simple, but this has eluded me my whole life. Been doing room by room organizing and finding homes for the things I keep. I still have a long way to go, but I will get there.

I found this blog really helpful.
365lessthings.com
IF you go through the archives you can read about how she threw out one thing a day & posted pictures. Now she posts inspirational tips & ideas of what to toss.

Other blogs I like:
UnClutterer
Small Notebook (She doesn't post much lately, but the site is well organized & you can find a lot of tips on living with less--she has some great posts on living with babies in apartments.

I've been trying but, it seems that new stuff is coming in as fast as old stuff is going out.

I need to go and tackle the basement too - we renovated a few years ago and moved everything into the basement. There are things I never unpacked again - I think a lot of them are going to get tossed.

I did a great job on maternity leave and felt good but, it's slipped a bit this past year.
