Classmate Birthday Parties
How much do you spend on a gift for your DC's classmate? My DC were invited to a girl in their daycare's 2nd birthday party, and I'm clueless on the going rate for gifts. Since I have twins, I'm thinking an outfit and a $25 gift certificate to Build a Bear or Toys R Us. Too much, too little? Any suggestions? TIA

Re: Classmate Birthday Parties
I would probably just do the gift card but I guess my friend with twins does try to do a little extra.

Re: Classmate Birthday Parties
We usually do around $20, and that's roughly what a lot of DS's classmates spent on his b-day.
You can of course go higher, depending on how well you know/like the classmate....

Re: Classmate Birthday Parties
Generally speaking I do about $20ish. If it's a good friend I may spend more if my daughter has something specific in mind....I also have twins. If they are both invited to a party I either do 2 separate gifts or one larger gift. I tend to keep it at about $30 then or $30 combined.

Re: Classmate Birthday Parties
I don't usually spend more than $30 unless it's a good friend.

$20-30.
My mom always gave extra since both of us (twins) were going to the party.
