CL and re-sole
Can anyone recommend where you go have CL's repaired and re-soled? Also, is there a way to protect the sole?

I don't know where you are located but if you are in NYC, I bring mine to Arty's in Chelsea. They do a great job of matching the red soles. I have started getting the protective soles put on a new pair before I wear them and it actually helps a TON in terms of protecting from wear and tear.

Definitely Artie's in NYC and Post Ave Bootery in Westbury if you're on LI.
And agreed, put on before you wear.
