City Mini/Indie or similiar - Strap and clamp recline feature?

I recently purchased the Bumbleride Indie and although I love many things about it, there are a few things I don't love and the biggest problem I have is the strap and clamp mechanism to recline the seat. It's just way more difficult than it should be. It's nearly impossible to make the seat upright while DS is in it. Have to hold it with my shoulder while I struggle to slide clamp upwards. It doesn't easily slide, I have to push and push and wiggle and pull back and push forward. It's ridiculous. Then when I get it as upright as it will go, it starts to slowing slide back and recline itself a little with the pressure of DS sitting in it. This drives me crazy, because I already feel like the seat doesn't sit up straight enough and then when I get it as upright as it will go, it starts to recline itself! Then reclining it is another problem. It just doesn't slide smoothly, I have to tug and tug and pull one side of the strap and then the other and then even it out, etc. It's crazy... It shouldn't be so hard.

Is this just how these reclines are?? How the Indie is? Or does it sound like I got a bad one?

Thanks!

I have the City Mini and never had any issues with the recline. I had the single and now I have the double and both have been really easy to use.

Re: City Mini/Indie or similiar - Strap and clamp recline feature?

Thanks ladies. I called Bumbleride and they are sending me a new strap and clamp. They said it shouldn't be as hard as I'm describing and they said it sounds like the clamp isn't holding since the seat is reclining by itself with just the weight of DS sitting in it. I did go to BRU yesterday and tested the recline on the City Mini and it was MUCH easier than the Indie. I'm really hoping I just got a bad clamp and that the new one will be user friendly.
