circus walk
Has anyone gone to circus walk before? I just saw it in the paper apparently you buy tickets thru LICM but how do they control who got tickets if the animals walk thru the street?

The LICM is having an event that includes a bunch of activities for the kids. That's why they are charging $8pp.
If you just want to see the animals walk, you can always park in one of the lots close by. The animals walk up the street, passed the museum and to the coliseum.
I'm planning on going to see the animals but that all depends on how DS is at that time. It's from 6-9pm.

The circus is coming to town this week, so they do this animal walk every year.

It really wasn't worth it... There were 6 elephants and about 10 horses!!! It use to be a lot bigger!!! They unloaded the animals at 815pm!

That part was a little disappointing, but we had fun in the museum. Wasn't a fan of the PETA coloring books

Just going to write the same thing..we got there about 6... So we waited 2.5 hrs for a minute and half show...it was cold and we were not dressed properly so we were freezing by the time they came...
My 4 yr old thought it was a parade and asked where the rest of it was! Lol
My DH was pi$$ed!

I agree with the PP posters I was not prepared to be there for 2.5 hours we spent time in the car and we didn't go in licm.
All the parents I spoke to, this was their first time. Is it that you go once and are disappointed and never go back??
I had to convince my DS to go back in the car to find more elephants!

Thinking about it, I don't think the walking of the elephants is supposed to be parade like and fantastic. I think it's just a means of getting them from the train to the venue, and whomever wants to watch, can watch KWIM?

the inside part was cute and it was very afforable for all that was offered- even though it was poorly planned on LICM's part due to the lack of organization.
i was very disappointed with the 'march' though. i wish it started earlier because you could barely see the few elephants and horses when they finallyyyyyyyyyy walked by.
my daughter was almost passed out on DH's shoulder by the time they came.

This isn't the first year the LICM has done a circus event. They do coordinate with the circus. The extent of it though is the circus calling them to let them know when the animals will start walking, and providing them with Ringling Bros stickers for the crafts. They also had a couple of circus performers at their museum for a mini show in the theater last weekend.

I saw a bunch of (perhaps you ladies?) sitting on the lawn right outside my office building when I was leaving last night! I was surprised bc usually the animals come off the train much earlier and we watch from the window! I can't believe it wasn't until 815!!!

The train didn't get in until around 3. Then it takes forever to move cars around and get the equipment off.. It use to be a lot better. I haven't been there in over 3 years. We use to be able to walk right up to the train and watch them unload the animals. There were zebras one year. Llamas and a camel I think another... The circus was cut in 2 groups this year. LI apparently got the smaller one! We got there around 615pm and my DS (2) did ok most of the time. He had his friends to keep him occupied (7 and 9)... Then it was time for the I-pad... He had a big grin on his face when he saw the elephants... That was worth the 2 hour wait!!! We brought blankets with us and chairs.. There were 8 of us..
