circumcision question....

My boys were both circumcised 10 days ago.....they both looked completely healed and then during their diaper changes this morning the tips of both heads had a very tiny "cut" that bled a tiny bit. Is this normal? I held a wipe over it and the bleeding stopped.

I also don't know when I am supposed to start pulling their skin back during diaper changes. All i've been doing so far is taking a lot of vaseline and glopping it on during diaper changes.

Hmmmm...I've never had it bleed again, but maybe somehow the diaper got stuck...do you use vaseline all the time still?? I would say to watch it, and make sure if doesn't happen again, or look inflamed...if so, I would call the doc.

As far as pulling the skin back, my dr never rec. it for either of my sons, and both of them are fine.

When we went for his 2 week ped. visit the ped. told us we could stop with the vaseline. At his 1 month visit he told us to pull the skin all the way back and clean with every diaper change.

I would ask my pediatrician about the bleeding, did they say it looked like it was healed when you went to their check up appts. At my 2 week appt this week, our son is 18 days old, the doctor said we could stop putting on the glob of vaseline on it since it's healed.

my ped told me not to do anything for his circ but vaseline and gauze until it healed.
