CIO MOMS- WHEN CHILD IS SICK

What do you do? Do they sleep with you? Then how do you know when it's time to let them CIO again?

DS has an ear infection and fever and was pitiiful. Threw up all over his bed Friday night. The past 2 nights I had to let him sleep with me. THe problem is that last night he had no fever, went down in his own bed but woke up 3 hours later hysterical! I had to get him and let him sleep with me. Has no fever this morning, slept decently with me overnight, woke up crying a couple of times. Should I start CIO again tonight? Is it going to be torture???? And for nap today too?

Please help, I need sleep and logistically cannot sleep with him every night....

i'm against babies in bed and here's why:
DH would sit with DS when he fell asleep. At around 1 I said enough is enough and started teaching DS to fall asleep alone. DS got sick and DH let him sleep with us for one night. And that was the end of sleep training! DH now has to lie down with DS on his twin bed for DS to fall asleep. Then DH has to attempt to quietly sneak out of the room without waking DS up. He hates every second of it, but has no one to blame but himself. DS is not 2 and 7 months.
Next baby, no sleeping in our bed, ever!

That is exactly what I'm afraid of.... has anybody has success getting your dc to sleep on their own again after being sick? Please please tell me my nights of sleeping peacefully through the night are not over.... what do I do?

We all had that terrible Norovirus that was going around back in January. DS and I had it so bad and I let DS sleep in my bed with me. DD had it too but she fell asleep in her own crib. After we were all better the twins both would not sleep unless DH and I sat next to their cribs and held their hands. One night I said enough already and it took 3 or 4 days but I let them CIO and that was it. I'm completely against kids in my bed, but when they are sick and they want me, that's a different story. I just deal with the consequences later

Yes ds had a super high fever a couple of months ago....he slept with us a couple of nights. We had to sleep train again (kind of a modified CIO) and after a few days he was ok.

Yes, we always just did CIO again. My kids never cried more than 2 nights. Good luck!
