CIO middle of the night
How do you do it exactly? DD goes down between 7 & 8. She is waking around 11pm, 1am, 4am, 5am. A good night is wake up at 2am then 5 am then up for the day at 6 or so. Until what time do I do motn cio? She is 13 months but 11 adjusted. She is BF still. I just feel so lost. Do you cut one wake up out at a time? TIA!!!

Re: CIO middle of the night
I would handle one WU at a time.... I'm assuming you're still nursing each time she wakes? FWIW, I weaned DS from MOTN feedings at 9 months to try to help with the many WUs I was experiencing... I was sick and tired of hearing how 2mo old babies were STTN and mine wasn't. So, I know your pain! Once you wean her from nursing in the MOTN, there shouldn't be a reason for her to be up and THEN you can do CIO. Otherwise, she has a legitimate gripe to ask to nurse whenever she wants it! I was so reluctant to stop nursing DS because I felt like he NEEDED it. But, my ped was right, he didn't. And he was fine. I also started to leave a sippy cup with water in the crib so if he was thirsty, he can sip from that. It worked!
We did CIO to wean that one night feeding and it took 2 nights to wean him. Truthfully, it took another month or two before he stopped waking all together. I think it just became a habit to wake up and cry. DS never really STTN more than 2-3 nights in a row until he was 15/16 months old. It took time to break that habit!
DS is now 19 months old (this week) and hardly ever wakes anymore! When he does, we let him CIO for all of 5 min and he's back asleep! ((HUGS)) It's not going to be easy, but you'll get through!

Re: CIO middle of the night
I also have the same problem with DS who is 9.5 months. For the middle of the night wake ups he freaks if DH goes in there. He cries and stares at the door until I appear. He won't go back to bed unless he is nursed and then he's out in 15 minutes and sleeping. He usually gets up 1x a night but I know he's more than capable of STTN.
