CIO hugs needed
DS is 6 months this week and still getting up 6-7 times a night. We are so sleep deprived it's insane. My mom took my older one tonight so we could do CIO.
It's been 1/2 hour and an I'm dying. I hate that I have to do this. I hate that his sleep has gotten worse instead over better over the last few months. I hate that neither of my kids settled into a sleep routine on their own. We are consistent, we have a bedtime routine, we use white noise, but he still gets up over and over. I did CIO with my first DS and I know that it works and that it takes only a few nights but right now I'm feeling like the worst mommy in the world because my baby is in there screaming and I can't help him. Please tell me it will be ok.

Re: CIO hugs needed
Everything will be fine and you are a great mommy. Don't beat yourself up bc your DC's didn't become great sleepers on their own, that's not your fault. Just keep reminding yourself that your DS will be a more well-rested and likely happier child because you were able to be a strong mommy who put his needs 1st. You've already made it through 1/2 hour, you can do this. GL!!

Re: CIO hugs needed
it was tough but so worth it! i was never a CIO advocate until my hands were tied and we had no choice. now DS sleeps 10-12 hours every night and puts himself to sleep no problems. its not just for their benefit but yours too. you've let him cry 30 mins already, no turning back now.

Re: CIO hugs needed
I am right there with you!!!...I am going to start CIO in about 2 weeks! Tonight me and DH decided we would try ferber. I ALWAYS rock DS to sleep. Tonight I gave him his bottle and put him in his crib and he fell asleep within 20 mins without a peep. Lets see how many times he wakes up tongiht. If he does I am going to try ferber

Re: CIO hugs needed
hang in there! I did CIO with my DD when she was 9 months old and in less than 3 days she was sleeping through the night. She is not 2.5 and has only woken 1 time.....when she was really congested/sick.
it's hard, but I am so glad I did it and have a great sleeper!

Xavier is a horrible sleeper also...he was STTN for a while. I have no idea why it changed
I keep saying I am going to CIO with him but haven't yet. I did it with Rylan at a year old but am just petrified this time. I know it works...i'm just feeling a little wimpy. I keep saying "this" weekend...i've been saying that for a while now though...lol.
