CIO and crib toys?
When doing CIO do you keep toys in? Xavier has the FP aquarium and i'm not sure if I should take it out. Not sure if it will help or makes things worse.
I planned on starting this weekend but starting tonight instead. Xavier has been waking up all night long. Last night I stopped counting at 16. There's nothing wrong with him...just wants me to pick him up and stand as I rock him. He just has no idea how to put himself back to sleep

Re: CIO and crib toys?
I started CIO with DD at 6.5 months after I too lost count of night wakings (except I only had patience to count to 10 wakeups between 11-6 am).
She has two loveys and her learning puppy which sings her 10 minutes of lullabies. I read somewhere that a lovey is a good thing to give a baby during CIO.
If you feel the aquarium will calm him, I say try it. If it makes things worse in the next 2-3 days, remove it.

Re: CIO and crib toys?
WE kept the FS Aquarium in DS's crib when we did CIO. He turns it on himself now (at 15 months). I love that thing. We also gave DS a lovey at 4.5 months old when we did CIO. He sleeps with one still today.

I took it out because DS started flipping over and banging his head on it, as he did on the crib, his crib now looks like one of those padded mental rooms
this was pre-CIO though
I used lovey for 3m, its a blessing, he loves that thing cuddles it and puts it on his head like a hat.

Neither of my kids have been attached to anything...I've tried very hard too. I'm their one and only lovey...lol.

Thanks...i'll need it. For some reason this is harder to do with Xavier than it was with Rylan. Unless I just don't remember how I felt back then.

Rylan loved it too...he would wake up in the middle of the night...turn it on and go back to sleep.

That's how Xavier turns it on most of the time...with a head butt...lol.

Re: CIO and crib toys?
I took it out because she ended up staying awake playing with it, then would get overtired and it threw her off track. I put it on her bedroom floor and still put it on everynight.
