Christmas Cookie Question
Every year I make a TON of Christmas cookies but because I'm scared to make them too far in advance, I always make them on December 23rd and 24th. You can imagine the HUGE amount of stress it causes to have to finish the cookies in time to be delivered to all my Christmas Eve and Christmas gatherings (4 different places!). So my question is, how far in advance can I make the cookies so that they will still taste fresh? And how should they be stored?
TIA - this will save me huge amounts of stress - and make my DH very happy!

Re: Christmas Cookie Question
I think you can start now! Or if you're worried it's too early then definitely this weekend. Just make sure you have tupperware to store them in.

Re: Christmas Cookie Question
My mother and I just did ours this weekend. We made 11 different types and I can't even count how many dozens we ended up with. We usually do it two weeks before Christmas and then mail some to family around the country and bring some into work. We'll still have some left for Christmas and as long as they're all stored properly, they'll be fine.
We store them in tins and tupperware lined with wax paper and put them in the basement. **Our basement is pretty cold.
