Christening Question and Advice Needed
Thinking of having our little man's Christening this March at the Fox Hollow in Syosset/Woodbury. After speaking with the people at Fox Hollow for an afternoon affair I was given a price of roughly $65 per person for the following. Please also note that this did include tax and gratuity.
Cocktail Reception Passed Hors d'oeuvres Appetizer- Pasta Salad Entree- Chicken Dish, Filet Milon, Salmon Decorated occassion cake Desssert- Belgium Waffle Sundae Fresh Coffee, Tea, Expresso and Cappuccino Beer, Wine and Soda
Please let me know of your thoughts in terms of value pricewise for what we would be receiving. We plan on having somewhere around 125 people. While the price doesn't seem out of line it does feel a bit pricey for me given it is Winter time, no open bar and no full cocktail hour. Maybe I am a little out of touch with how much these things cost at the momenthaving not planned a party like this since my wedding four years ago. If you have any other catering places or halls you could recommend it would be most appreciated as well. Thanks

Re: Christening Question and Advice Needed
I paid about the same pp for my labor day weekend wedding five years ago, so to me it seems expensive.

Since it includes beer, wine and soda, tax and gratuity I think it is a good price for what you are getting.

It sound pricey to me but probably in line with a catering hall. I believe restaurants run under $40/pp when I looked for my SIL's baby shower last year.
Of course, Fox Hollow is probably roomier. I did go to a communion at Irish Coffee House in East Islip that was terrific. (just called) Prices start at $35/head plus tax & gratuity.

It does sound a little pricey. I don't know where you live, so I'm not sure about suggestions.
Good luck!

**Yes the price did seem somewhat high to me but please do keep in mind that the actual price for the food aspect is $49 and the tax and gratuity is what is raising it to $63-64 per person. I don't know if that was clear in my initial post**

That sounds high.
ETA:
I didn't see that was after taxes and gratuity, if that's the case and there is some alcohol included then it seems ok.

Re: Christening Question and Advice Needed
I think thats a bit high considering there is no cocktail hour or open bar. I would sugggest pricing out the North Ritz Club in Syosset its down the road from Fox Hollow. The food and service is amazing. Ask for Nadine she is great to work with. If you need any other help let me know
Good Luck to you
