Im having it in a hall...if that makes a difference. Did you cater all of it or make some? TIA!

Re: christening food
We had ours catered. The catering place provided a cheese platter for before the hot food. I also went out and bought a bunch of hot appetizers that the waitresses cooked for us before the party started. They waitresses walked around and and served them before the hot food was served. I had the party catered at my mom's house so we had access to a stove.
We had the following hot food catered for dinner:
fire roasted steak linguini and clam sauce Salmon with fresh tomatoes chicken w/ peppers, artichoke hearts, mushrooms & capers in a wine sauce penne ala vodka
I forgot to add bread, salad, and a tray of rice.
We had a cake for desert that the caterer supplied and I also went out and bought a bunch of cookies from an Italian bakery.

We also had various appetizers passed around. (pigs in the blanket, taquitos, shrimp and cocktail sauce, potato puffs, sausage puffs, cheese puffs, mini pizzas, teriyaki chicken, etc.

Re: christening food
I had DD's christening at my dad's house, but had it catered in May... I had two green salads- one greek w/ feta and olives that my step mother made, and one that my mom made- just classic with vinegairette.
The caterer brought:
DIdn't have tons of apps- just a basket of foccachia bread and and a grilled vegetable platter.
For the mains we had a marinated sliced steak, chicken breast w/ lemons & artichoke hearts, eggplant rollatini, and a ravioli (the place we catered has all types of specialty raviolis).
we had it catered from guy anthony's
