christening/baptism invite etiquette
so i'm starting to think about DD's christening and i'm wondering if i have to invite everyone who was invited to my shower to the christening?
if i do that, the list is up to 70ppl including my DH & I... and 7 kids over 1, 2 under 1 including my DD.
i don't want to offend anyone, but 70 ppl is a lot!
someone please help me out?

Re: christening/baptism invite etiquette
We didn't invite everyone who went to my shower. We just wanted to have a small party at our house. We invited only family and like 2 friends and it was perfect. About 25 people total.

Re: christening/baptism invite etiquette
We didn't invite A LOT of people who were at my shower. It would've been waaaaay too many people and waaaay too expensive. For my shower family we don't see often was invited as well as co-workers and family friends of our parents. For the christening we kept it to just family and friends that we see all the time and would be in our DD's life consistently. I didn't invite the 10,000 cousins we never see and the aunt we see once every few years. We had to draw the line somewhere. KWIM?

Re: christening/baptism invite etiquette
We could not do it. If I had a big party then I would have.
The shower was only about 35 women, but for some reason we have 4Xs the amount of men in our families - party would have been like 120 people.
We ended up going to a restaurant with mostly immediate family.

Re: christening/baptism invite etiquette
We did immediate family only (including 1st cousins and kids). No friends or distant relatives. WE had about 35 people. I wanted my friends there but they understood we were trying to save money.
