christening
When are you supposed to have it done? I've heard a few months, is this right?
Our is due in June and we were thinking of having him christened at the end of August .. too soon?

Re: christening
It all depends.
Our son was born 5/23/05 and was Baptised 07/03/05 we wanted to do it pretty early and on a holiday weekend because we had alot of people travelling for it and also they wanted to see him still as an infant since it was the first time he met alot of the family since we live in Florida.

Re: christening
We're still deciding. We're due may 16th and we're debating about when we'll be up to all the planning. Probably end of June or July.

Re: christening
I just had Isabella christened this past Sunday and she was 6 1/2 months. She was born in September and between being a bridesmaid in my cousin' wedding on 11/4, the holidays, and my Dad's surgery in January, this seemed to be the only time that would work best for everyone. It was a great day and worked out for everyone in the end For me, if it was after 7 or 8 months, it could have been a problem...

Re: christening
I think August is fine. My ds was 3 months old at his christening and my dd was 5 1/2 months old at hers.

Re: christening
My daughter was christened at 5 weeks. I preferred to do it early. However, I wasn't given much of a choice...she was born in September, my inlaws were going to be away in November, December interfered with the holidays, and I didn't want to go into the new year.
So, basically, it's absolutely not too soon.

Re: christening
Never to soon. It is strickly up to you when you would like to have it done. Frankie was 3 months. My sisters baby will be 2 months... just check with your church on when they hold the christening or if you want a private one, book it with them on a date that is good for you and the church.

Re: christening
I don't think there's really any set age to christen a baby. I know people who have done it as early as a few weeks old. We had a huge delay and Christopher will be 9 months old when he is Christened.

Re: christening
I baptized Andrew when he was 3 months old and will do the same for this baby. There's no such thing as it being too soon!

Re: christening
My boys were also just shy of 3 months when I baptized them. I went to a Christening for a 2 week old once.
