Choosing a pediatrician....Question
Has anyone chosen a pediatrician who was not affiliated with the hospital they delivered at? I've been researching peds and the one I am leaning towards is not affiliated with the hospital I will be delivering at. Is this a problem? Is it better to find a dr who will check my baby out in the hospital?

Even if your ped isnt affiliated with the hospital you deliver at an attending pediatrician in the hospital will round on the baby and make sure everything is fine. If you found a ped you love I would go with them regardless if they were affiliated or not.

Re: Choosing a pediatrician....Question
We are having the same issue. My OB said that he would recommend a ped he trusts for the hospital and then have that dr. discharge to the ped I pick. Just make sure that who you use in the hospital takes your insurance, I've heard that you could end up paying out the wazoo if the dr who checked your baby doesn't have your insurance!
