we have wood floors--oak, natural color
our walls are bm nantucket fog (a slate blue color)

it also has blues and beiges in it as well...but the chocolate brown is the darkest color

I think both brown and black are "neutral" colors. I think it will look great!
We have green couches and a brown rug and I really like them together.
