Chiminey cleaning/repair
Doe anyone have someone they'd recommend? I live in Port Jeff Station. We can't even use the fireplace because the flue is broken and the smoke just backs into the house...
TIA

Re: Chiminey cleaning/repair
Here's what I posted awhile back on this topic - I would definately recommend this company.
The $39 "chimney cleanings" are a scam - the ones that promise a free inspection always try to upsell you on needing a major creosote cleaning, relining, electric chimney caps, etc and if they just "clean" it they spend a short amount of time just cleaning the bit you can see. We've had maybe half a dozen of them come in to quote jobs and they all have some different problem they are touting - trying to upsell the job.
I did a lot of research and basically you'll pay about $175 - $200 for a full cleaning from a good, licensed company and it will take about an hour. We ended up using Chief Chimney and were very happy with their work.
