Re: Childbirthing classes

This is how much stuff costs for us through the hospital:

Lamaze - $150 per couple
Baby Care Basics - $10 contribution
Baby CPR - $35 per person
Breastfeeding - $10 contribution

But the Bradley Classes are different and done outsdie the hospital, so they're more.

I think ours was $150 when I was PG with Connor. And I may be in the minority but we thought it was a waste of money.

The lamaze part amy have been helpful but I had a c-section. As for the babycare stuff......it was all things I knew. I babysat most of my life and alot of it was common sense.

But that is JMO

Re: Childbirthing classes

We spent like $35 on the Laugh and Learn Lamaze DVD, got to do it in our home and got the same info. A possible alternative to a $300 class if you're interested. I believe that company also makes on for childcare and breastfeeding.

I think it was $150.

If I had to do it all over again, I just would have gotten the DVD, since I have a higher chance of having a c-section.

I see a doctor in the city on Spring Street. Which is why the price is probably so high?

Re: Childbirthing classes

We are taking at class at Dr. Hanauer's office (she does not do the class). It is $140 for 2 classes. The first class is about labor, delivery, etc. for about 3 hours and the second class gives us a tour of the hospital.

Where did you take a private class? I am having a hard time finding a class because my DH works crazy hours (usually leaves eraly in the am and is home after 11pm). He can take off one day for a private class but to take off for 4 nights to go to the hospital is too much. With his job, if he has to leave early he'll have to take off the whole day. TIA!
