Child Sick- Help Needed
I'm a first time mom and never know what I should be doing!!!
My daughter is 15 months old.
She recently cut her two upper molars.
Yesterday she was fussy and her face felt warm. We thought she was still teething.
But this morning she was still crying and fussy. I took her temperature and it was 102 degrees!
So I gave her tylenol. With the tylenol she is still 100 degrees.
Sometimes it seems like she is shivering even though she is in a long sleeved onesie, pants and socks.
She has no other signs of being sick besides the fever and the fussiness and now the shivering.
What can/should we be doing for her? Do we need to bring her to the doctor now? or tonight? or do we not have to bring her in at all?

If the fever is not going away with meds, I would call your ped and talk with a nurse in the office. They may recommend to bring her in or you can ask if motrin can be given. I have found motrin worked faster and better when my DD is sick.

Re: Child Sick- Help Needed
If she has no other symptoms, I would wait it out for 48 hours. If it does not get better after that, then I'd go to the doctor.

My DS has the exact same thing. Went to the ped yesterday and she said its a virus and to gig Tylenol as needed. He had a fever since Sunday, but today I think it's finally gone. If she still has a fever tomorrow call the ped. It doesn't hurt o have her checked out.m

Re: Child Sick- Help Needed
I just went through this about a week or so ago. I just kept alternating with the tylenol and motrin. It finally went away after 3 days. Good luck, hope your DD feels better!

Motrin works better for a fever but at only 100 its not even really considered a fever.

Re: Child Sick- Help Needed
Not much you really need to do for a fever except Tylenol or Motrin. If it is still present after 48hrs, Id call. If DC isn't pulling on ears or anything else, then Id just wait it out a little

I would wait it out unless she's extremely irritable. Then I would call the ped because it could be an ear infection (especially with the recent teething).

Re: Child Sick- Help Needed
thanks everyone. i think we are going to go to the doctor this evening because she is extremely irritable and still 103, after the tylenol, over 101 so it doesn't seem controlled well enough in my opinion. I'd rather have them look at her.
