My SIL lived in Chicago, some of our favorite resturants when we visted
Meli's Cafe in Greektown Meli's
Carmichaels Steakhouse is decent and affordable Carmichael's
Chicago Chophouse - I still rave about the filet mignon on the bone that I had here...OMG Chicago Chophouse
For Chicago style pizza - I recommend Lou Malnati's
Carnivale has delicious Spanish/Latin food Carnivale
Some must sees for a first time visit - Millennium Park walk over to Buckingham Fountain Navy Pier Willis Tower Skydeck (Form Sears Tower) Shop on Magnificent Mile - Michigan Ave

We moved to Chicago 5 years ago. It's a great city. I agree with Chicago Chophouse (yum!!) & Carnivale. And the sites mentioned above are all great. I preferred the top of the Hancock tower to the Willis Tower. I just liked the view better and it's smack in the middle of Michigan Ave, so you can just go up when you need a break from shopping. You could also have a drink at the bar up there. I also highly recommend an architecture river cruise. There are a whole bunch of different ones. Some leave from navy pier, or from Wacker Drive/Michigan Ave.
