Re: Chelsea Clinton

I wasn't allowed to hold my baby walking out of the hosptial like that.
I had to be seated in a wheelchair with the baby in the car seat/carrier on my lap.

But I'm not a Clinton....

I'm sure that's what they were going for too. When I saw them leaving I said "oh FFS you're not Princess Kate!"

They are definitely NOT Will and Kate.
They're the knock-off version.

I kind of can't stand that Bill and Hillary are right up in there for the photo op. Step aside and let the new parents enjoy their baby without it being a calculated pr move. Her poor dh.

As a woman with grandchildren, I love this pic. I can tell you that if it were my grandchild, I would be right up in there too. ( I might have already done that.) Yeah, I know... boundaries. ;) When those sweet peas come, one tends to not think of anything else. Chat Icon

Re: Chelsea Clinton

I think they look great!

Regarding the Kate comparisons: While I don't know much about Chelsea's husband, this is a well educated, accomplished, and hardworking couple, not to mention the daughter and son in law of both a two term U.S. president and a Senator and Secretary of State. They've all held positions that they worked hard to attain rather than simply being born into. They aren't anyone's "knock offs", and frankly, Chelsea appears to have a lot more substance to her than Kate.

This grandma agrees with you.

And I have to Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon at the Kate comparison. All I see are happy parents and grandparents leaving the hospital.

I think the picture is adorable with all of them.

Nice picture. I don't consider them knock offs! She looks so tired, and it seems she got her dads under-eye bags. Chat Icon

Totally. I don't get the Kate love. She's pretty and she dresses nicely and seems to be a good mom. But she did next to nothing with an expensive education, other than wait for William to propose, which is her right but I don't think that makes her admirable.

And yes, Hillary is very calculated in almost everything she does- but I think all you see from her in that photo is pure joy. I don't think anyone on either side can deny that she and Bill were good parents and they are all obviously close and they are super thrilled to be grandparents.

I don't know much about Chelsea's husband but Chelsea was certainly "born into" her position and career. She has a $600k job as a correspondent - do you really think that job was given to her because of her hard work? I'm sure there are many people her age and with similar resumes who would not be offered that. So while I don't discount her achievements I do believe that she didn't need to work as hard to obtain then as many of us have had to.

I'm sure her last name/parents had nothing to do with how she got her career. Chat Icon

Chelsea Clinton

First Chelsea has never been a media whore I do not think she was trying to be like the Dutchess when she picked that dress. Second IMO there is nothing wrong w the Clintons being w her as she left.

Chelsea came of age while her father was in the White House and I have never heard a report of bad behavior, crazy partying etc. Does her name help her in business? perhaps but at least she EARNED the degree and chooses to WORK, her parents are rich now and another kid might mooch off them.

IMO they did a damn good job raising her.

This is what I meant but this explains it better.

I meant relatively speaking, compared to Kate and the royal family in general who are deemed to be entitled to all that they have due to bloodline regardless of education, hard work, etc.
