Check the price at the gas station
I am not sure if this has been posted already, but make sure to check the price at the pump, and make sure it doesn't say CASH under it in small print.
Today I was paying cash at the gas station but realized they were charging 14 cents more a gallon if you used your credit card.

Most of them are doing that now...it has to do with the fact that they supposedly aren't making enough money @ the cash price to pay the credit card fees.
Apparently, down south, the gas stations are refusing Credit Cards altogether.

It goes in cycles. It isn't the first time that this has happened. Some stations do this for a while, until they realize that the stations that don't do it are getting more business, then they stop doing it. I've noticed the cycle several times over the last few years.

Happened to DH and I Sat. night.
Thought we were getting a good deal..$4.25...
Well, a few mins. after DH swiped the card, he sees the sign..We were charged $4.31

it's very common in nj.
since i live off my debit card, which is considered a credit card when i go to the pump... i have started to go to the sam's club station. they are cheaper than everyone else and they ONLY take plastic.

uhhhh thats really annoying! i never carry cash and if I do, I never have $70 on me which is what is costs for me to fill up.
I would be extremly p!ssed, thanks for the heads up, I have to fill up today.

We have a few like that where we live in FL and make note not to even use them because we only use debit for gas. I don't like carrying $100 on me so cash is a no go.

The Valero by me is doing this, but the Hess station right next to it isn't. It's only 2 cents more to use my credit card, and I like Hess better anyway.

Not a big deal. I pay all my gas with a credit card that gives me 5% cash back.
So if the cash price is $4.25 and the credit is $4.34 I am still saving more using the credit card.
5% cash back on $4.34 gas makes the price $4.12.

Someone told me if you use your debot card as Debit instead of credit, you get the cash price

not true - the gas station still has to pay a fee on debit cards no matter how they are used.

The gas station near me is doing this. It is $4.31 for cash but CC is a whole other story.

I haven't seen this yet here in S.C. But thanks for the heads up. I hardly ever carry cash.
