Chase HELOC issues
Anyone else having problems with Chase and their HELOC? Ours was reduced significantly and they took 9 days to notify us. I'd written a check against ours during that time so needless to say I wasn't happy. It has been utterly frustrating to deal with their lack of customer service. So far, I've been able to find out that they have incorrect information on their records and they admitted that if the info had been correct they would not have reduced the HELOC. Additionally, the valuation model they use is so far off from every other one we look at, and they are not taking into consideration the renovations we just completed. It was an arbitrary decision to drop the amount based on flawed info. I was just on the phone with an attorney regarding some class action suits against Chase for these practices. Chase's only response when you call is to fax over some information and wait 5 - 15 days for someone to contact you.

Re: Chase HELOC issues
They froze mine a while ago, so I have zero available credit.
I was going to sue them over it because I felt they violated TILA Regulation Z, but I never got around to doing it.
Its real nice because even though I have zero credit available, they still have their fat name listed on my deed as a leinholder. I gotta get that removed.

According to the attorney I spoke to they have violated a lot of regulations in the way they've gone about handling the HELOC's. They've filed a couple of suits in CA already and are looking to expand it with the initial goal of getting Chase to stop it's illegal and abusive practices and secondly to recoup lost funds where people have had to pay for appraisals, NSF fees, etc.
