Re: Charlie Horses
I finally got them this morning when I woke up and boy do they hurt. I heard a banana helps, too bad I was immobile and had to suffer though it since DH already went to work.

Re: Charlie Horses
OMG are those painful!!!!!!! But, the best thing to do is as soon as you feel it coming on, immediately get out of bed and stand on it. I swear it goes away right away. At least for me it does!!! Someone told me this and I wanted to hug them the next time it happened and I stood on the floor, foot flat!

Re: Charlie Horses
One banana per day really helps. I think it's the potassium in them.

Re: Charlie Horses
Flex your foot immediately, hard, when it happens! Rub your calf too. The flexing helps a lot. I used to wake up crying from the pain! Hope it passes fast!

Re: Charlie Horses
With my dd I would get them almost daily. The only thing that helped me was Earth Mama Angel Baby's third trimester tea. If I missed a few days they came back, I swear by that stuff.

Re: Charlie Horses
i had them with my first pregnancy a lot! hubby would wake up and stretch my leg and rub it. i think it was a lack of magnesium; so i would take extra. ( i think) i am 38 weeks tomorrow with my second; and i got my first CH last week. Crappppppppppppy feeling.

Re: Charlie Horses
Flex your foot back - toes toward your shin. I used to get them all the time and now if I do this when feel it coming it loosens it right away!

Definitely flex your foot right away and stand on it feet flat. The nurse that ran my birthing class told us not to rub it because it will make it worse. I get them too. I flex and it usually goes away. Once or twice I had to actually get out of bed. For me they happen in the middle of th enight.
