Charcoal Toothpaste
I am starting to see charcoal toothpaste pop up everywhere. Has anyone tried this and does it really help to whiten your teeth? I was doing research and I read something about it being abrasive to enamel possibly... but just wanted to know if anyone's actually used it or has heard the same?

Re: Charcoal Toothpaste
I used the powder for a while. It was so messy and I only saw minimal difference. I switched to a toothpaste called Hello. Not messy at all but again, only minimal difference for me.

Re: Charcoal Toothpaste
From what I have read the results aren't all that great. Nowhere near even the white strips.

I had read about it a while ago and googled to find out more about it. Read some pretty scary stuff that made me decide against it (I forget the details, but I remember thinking, oh, hell no!"

Makes a mess and after doing some research it really isn't that good for you.

My daughter uses it. I've definitely noticed improvement. I don't recall the brand, but I got it from Wild by Nature. It is messy, but she is super picky and the flavor does not bother her.

I use it. It’s black power and yes can be messy. Tastes like nothing it’s more consistency. Absolutely works amazing and removes surface stains. I would use 5x a week. Then 3x. Then 2x. Then once every other week. I buy it in a bag and transfer to a little tuppy. Wet toothpaste and then brush regularly afterwards. Use on dirty teeth.

Re: Charcoal Toothpaste
Try the Crest 2 step whitening toothpaste system. It has the whitening paste, then a gel for even more whitening. You brush with one for a minute, then spit (don't rinse) and add the whitening gel for another minute.
Use it on an electric toothbrush.

I agree with Leb. Anything new will tend feel strange but it actually works.

Re: Charcoal Toothpaste
I love it. I see such great results. I've made my own and purchased from Target. It definitely works.

I use the Hello brand from Target. It does not taste bad. I do see droplets of it that splash onto my mirror and sink. My ENT told me to use it because it’s a natural way to kill more germs in the mouth. I think it helps to maintain whiteness.

This is actually the one I picked up. Do you see a difference for whitening purposes?
