Chanukah help....
I am having a chanukah gathering at my house- and I am not sure what to put out- there are going to be 15-17 people as a Chanukah Open house.... ( 3 kids- my twin nieces, my BF daughter, and my niece) so far I have planned:
Kosher deli platter ( not that I am that religious, but w/ the hoilday I figured I may as well keep it traditional)
pickles
Mac, potato, cole slaw
Rye bread
Potato pancakes,apple sauce, sour cream
Chips, dip
Cupcakes
Jelly doughnuts
Franks in a blanket
Was wondering what else to put out, since it is an open house- people can be coming and going- maybe a hot dish? if so what?
HELP! It is my first Chanukah gathering I am hosting..... I hope I get thru this!!!

soups usually keep well - maybe a roasted chicken/carved turkey breast?

hanukkah gelt
apps:
"chopped liver" = chickpeas and nuts chopped together,
spinach pies,
mini quiches,
puff pastry,
cheese platter,
chips and dip,
bowl of blue m&ms
bowl of silver m&ms
bowl of hershey kisses
cut up veggies (carrots, celery, broccoli, cherry tomatoes)

Maybe kuggle as a hot dish, chopped liver and crackers, cheese and crackers, hummus and veggies, etc
Finger foods are good b/c at my cousin Hanukah party everyone is walking around eating and the kids just want to open the gifts.
Sounds pretty much the same at my cousin's party, but I don't know if they do a kosher platter... I need my cheese and turkey.

That is exactly what Im doing for my chanukkah party for the same amount of people (minus the cupcakes)!
