Changing the finish on granite counters - already installed
Does anyone know if this is possible once they are installed or finished? We have the polished finish and I hate it, I have since we put it in. Someone recently told me about honed or leathered finish. I never heard of it when we installed 4 yrs ago otherwise I would have chosen it, esp knowing what I know now about how dark granite can be so hard to keep. Just wondering if it can be done after the fact.
TIA

I believe you can go from polished to honed, but not from honed to polished.
Also, I'm pretty sure dark granite is even harder to keep clean when it is honed. If you want black granite honed, they'll ask you to sign a waiver before they'll do it because it will show every little thing!
