Changing RE
Any suggestions on how I can "break it off" with my RE and switch to another RE in the same practice. I am attempting to minimize the chances of my current RE being offended. TIA

Re: Changing RE
I would just be honest I mean they are doctors he/she will get over it, if he/she gets that upset and spiteful over it you didn't want them as your doc anyway.

Re: Changing RE
Your RE wont' be offended. I just changed within the same practice last month. I was completely stressing about, I didn't want to offend him but didn't want to discuss it with him.
You really don't have to discuss anything with him. According to medical ethics he's not allowed to ask you why you are changing, or make comments about it.
Believe me, just change and relax. I stressed myself out completely over nothing.

I did the same thing within the same practice, I was so stressed about it. But honestly, we just didn't get along.
When I was changing from another practice to my current practice, I gave the insurance excuse, which is definitely true...but do you actually havea reason? Are you changing practices or just REs within the same practice?

I'm just changing to another RE in the same practice. We originally wanted the RE that we are changing to but he did not accept our insurance. As of this week he is now accepting our insurance.
The RE's personality that we have now just didn't appeal to me at all. He was just very cold and "matter of fact.". I'm not looking for my RE to be my friend but given a choice I rather not feel like I am being treated by a stranger. KWIM?

I definitely know what you mean about the personality thing..that's why I changed REs in my practice. You will just have to let the office manager know you are changing and you'll probably have to meet with the new doctor...my new doctor didn't really ask me why I changed.

Re: Changing RE
I just did this too. I felt that my original RE (who I liked and was sweet) just wasn't managing my case as aggressively as I wanted or hoped. I spoke to one of the managing partners and I was honest and I even told him I felt bad about changing - he said do not worry it happens all the time. PLUS - then he told me my original dr was only part-time! I think it should be fine
