Changing from formula to milk??

AT what age did u switch dc to milk? My dd is 10 months and she eats eggs and cheese and yogurt and a few other dairy products and does great w/ them. However the pediatrician says keep on formula till 12 months. I would like to start the transition now. Just wondering what all of you wonderful mothers think,and why?? THANKS!!

1 day b4 she turned 12 months. I was afraid she might have a reaction since she didn't seem to agree with yogurt. So I waited a bit, then transitioned it in over 2 days or so. It actually went pretty easy and she loves it now ice cold out of the fridge

I personally didn't want to do it any earlier than 12 months, I just didn't want to rush it KWIM?

There are vitamins and whatnot in the formula that can't be found in milk, which is why it's recommended until a year old...because they still need them for their development, and they're not generally found in a child's diet at that age.
If your doctor recommends waiting until a year, and your child doesn't mind formula, I'd stick it out for another couple of months.

Just saw the dr. today. DS is 11 months. I am going to run out of the formula at the beginning of Sept that I have now and asked the dr. if we could switch him (DS will be 1 sept 11) The dr. said sure.

we switched a few weeks after she turned 1, i almost wanted to wait a little longer, i feel like she got a lot more vitamins and other important stuff that shes not gonna get from her diet otherwise. it was also a lot more convientant for me.

Thanks for your feedback!! I will stick to the formula for the next 8 weeks.
