Cervix Lengths?
I have a question, at one point do they start measuring your cevix? Or, do specific symptoms come on that lead to the measuring of the cervix? Asking b/c it seems like a pretty important factor, and my Dr and I never talk about it.

I am 29 weeks with my second and have never heard a cervix measurement yet...I have been having a lot of contractions lately, so I am going for a sono in the morning to measure my cervix as a precaution, but prior to this, I hadn't had anything specific done to find out the measurement (other than 20 week sonos)

they secretly measure it at your level II. they just don't tell you about it. (They also examine your placenta and its position at that time.)
I don't think they examine it again until they do internals at the end.... unless there are symptoms / reasons that make them.

I actually asked about this at my 25 week appt. My last sono was at 20 weeks and the doc said that there will be another one during my 30 week...cervix length check is included in this....I wanted to understand how they (and me) know that all is well.....

I had cramping this week and they did an internal and a sono. My Dr. told me they would start checking my sono around 28 weeks...but I am having twins.

I only know they checked mine at the level II because the tech was very descriptive of everything she was doing. I will be making sure my doc does it again at 32 week sono. You may have had it done and not even know but def ask to put your mind at ease.
