Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate?
I need to get one to update my passport. Do I need to contact the town where I was married or where I got my marriage license?

the town that is listed on your marriage certificate is where you would go.
so if you filed for your marriage license in the Town of say...Hempstead---you would have to go there.

You have to contact the town/city where you got your marriage license.
ie: got license in NYC; but got married in New Rochelle - you will reach out to NYC - who is the "legal" entity.

Yup, what they said. If you have your marriage certificate, though, can't you just use that? (I know you have to send it in, but don't they send it back to you?)
And you just reminded me that I have to change the name on my passport. Ugh...
