Cereal
My baby started cereal recently, how many times a day should he be having it? I have only been giving it to him at night.

I have been asking the same question.. we give it to her in the am and her last feeding before bed.. wondering if it is suppoded to be all day..and now I hear vegetables and fruits should be started too.. my little one is 5 months..

We started cereal at 4 months - 2 times a day (breakfast and dinner) and during that month shes had fruits and veggies.
At 5 months - my doctor told me to give her cereal 3 times a day and continue with the variety of fruits and veggies throughout the day.
At our 6 month appt - she will be starting w/meats.

Thanks for your response. My baby will soon turn 4 mths, so I will be seeing his doc next week, I will ask about starting fruits and veggies. Starting tomorrow, I will give him cereal 2 times a day. I thought it should be 2x a day but wasn't sure...thanks again

I just spoke to my Ped about this ...my DD is 6mths and she told me to start her on it twice a day...I asked how much and she just said as much as she will eat...

I was told 2x per day. One right after his first bottle and one right after his last bottle. Since I felt giving cereal after his last bottle (8:30pm) was too late, I gave it to him right after his 2nd to last bottle at around 4:30-5pm.
At 5 mos, we started fruits once a day and the cereal 2x a day remained the same. At 6 mos we added veggies. The ped told me to drop one cereal (the evening one) last month (7mos) when he began meats.
