CD10 and nothing. So...
I went in for my Clomid checkup today to see if I have any follies - I'm CD 10 and all they saw were "lots of little ones." I have PCOS; that's all I ever have.
If the Clomid is working, would I have anything bigger than that by now? The nurse said "Probably." Has that been your experience as well? And if nothing is going on down there at my next check on Saturday, will they give me more Clomid? The nurse said they might - 2 courses of Clomid in the same cycle? Has anyone done that?

Re: CD10 and nothing. So...
You can go right into another round in the same cycle, no need to get AF or anything in between! You just keep moving forward At least that's how it is with femara and injects!

Re: CD10 and nothing. So...
Oh, okay, thanks. I didn't realize. That's good news for me. Not like I'm so anxious to take Clomid again (holy hot flashes! ) but my cycles are so long, I was imagining this process taking forever.
As for my other question - if the 50mg of Clomid was going to work for me, would they see any growing follies by CD10? Or might they start growing this week?

Re: CD10 and nothing. So...
I don't want to respond with the wrong info- I honestly don't have any experience with clomid.
Here's what happened my very FIRST cycle the first time around last winter....... I started a low dose of femara and did no respond at all. I took a double dose of femara, and still did not respond. As a result, we added injections and that's what did the trick for me.
I'm not saying this will happen for you or that you are destined to need injections, BUT this was my experience! It's very possible a higher dosage of clomid is all you will need!!

I think they might see some follies and then monitor you until they reach a large enough size to then trigger. Don't give up yet, hopefully the follies are just taking a bit longer to react to the meds.

Re: CD10 and nothing. So...
i was on 50 mg 2 cycles ago. By CD11, i had 2 follies, 12 and 13mm. sorry but i am not saying this is how it is supposed to be. maybe your follies are slower, but will catch up on the next apt.

Re: CD10 and nothing. So...
I had this last cycle....50 mg of clomid and no follies past 10! Went on to 100mg of clomid and that did the trick! You may just need a higher dosage. For this cycle I am doing 150mg to start!

Re: CD10 and nothing. So...
Thanks for sharing your experiences! It makes me feel better to hear them all.
DH and I were so back-and-forth about whether to do IUI this first cycle or not, we didn't even stop to consider whether or not the Clomid would work. So at my appointment this morning when the nurse told me there was nothing going on in my ovaries, it threw me for a loop.
On the plus side, though, I guess I can eat and drink whatever I want this Thanksgiving.

Re: CD10 and nothing. So...
i have to say that upping the dosage does not always work. first, some women with PCOS are resistant to clomid. I had a similar if not worse response on higher dosage( 100mg) plus my lining thinned and i needed estrace to "fix" that. It "fixed" it so well that it became too thick for implantation, i suspect. never a dull moment

Sorry Dava to hijack the post- but Curiouso what was your lining that it was too thick?! I'm on loads of estrace and still have an average at best lining!

Re: CD10 and nothing. So...
my lining was 10 before IUI, he said it is at the thinner side and told me to continue estrace. With estrace, my lining built up about 3 mm each 2 days. He never checked it before IUI at all. But i think that if it kept growing, by the time of the IUI it was about 12mm. This is too much. It needs to be over 10mm at the time of implantation, which is about 7 dpo.
is dr. B checking your lining before IUI?

Mine is between 6 and 7... usually somewhere in the 6s, which is actually on the thinner side because I know most drs like to see it at least an 8- but this is the best we will do for me after experimenting a lot to make it thicker and I DID get pregnant with that lining!
I got monitored up until the day before my IUI, so yesterday.
