Catholic nursery/pre-k

Does anyone have their child in a catholic nursery school program and/or pre-k? If so, are you able to answer some questions (on here, or pm)?

- is it half day or full day?
- what is the price?
- are you happy overall with the experience?

Just for background, we are considering pulling our dd from a traditional daycare (which we love), due to finances. Our dd will go to kindergarten in the public school system.

Catholic nursery/pre-k

My kids go to our blocs church nursery and pre k. They are half day. 3 year old go 2 days a week from 12-2:25 and 4 year olds go 3 days a week from 12-2:25. Then they have additional classes like gym classes and activity/art classes that they can take on the days that aren't their normal school days. All 3 of mine are in 5 days a week. I believe the 3 year old program for the 2 days is 150 a month and the 4 year old program for the 3 days is 180 a month. I am pretty happy with the experience. At first I didn't think I would be as happy as I am because it's a Catholic school and I'm not catholic...DH is. But the teachers are wonderul, my kids have learned SO much and although they do have a lot of structure, the kids do a lot of play and I like that. At this age I feel like they should have fun and not have such a strict school schedule. They have the next 13 years after pre-school to have a strict school schedule.

My dd goes to st marys in east islip. She was there last yr for bursery and this yr for prek. She will go to public kindergarten next year. Nursery has half days and full days. Prek is only full day 815-215 but you can go as many days a week as you would like. Dd goes mon-Thursday. There is before care and after care that i believe is $500 for the entire year. We pay around $400 a month for the 4 full days. Dd loves it there. I love that she is learning religion. She knows her prayers better than I do lol. I am a teacher and I am happy with the program. They have library, music, theater. The school goes up to 8th grade and dd loves seeing the big kids and doing big kid stuff like fire drills lol

i live in NJ... but my son goes to a nursery school at a church. its not necessarily "relgious" (although they do say a blessing before snack).
its for 3,4,and 5 year olds.
the 3s classes are M, T from 9-11:30
the 4s classes are W,Th,F from 9-11:30
ad the 5s ("pre K" for kids who miss the K cut-off) its T,W,Th,F from 9-11:30
they also have extended day things where you can pay a little more for the kid to stay until 1/1:30.
i like it because they do a lot of play based learning... its not overly structured. which is good at this age- he has 13 years of structured "Real" school coming up! HAHA
BUT... i should say that i'm a SAHM. so this is more for him to get some time with other kids, and me to get a little break. its not really as child care. i sometimes wish i had picked a school that had the option for a full day (or at least until 2:30/3). bc i feel like sometimes i drop him off, then its time to turn around and go back and get him! and right now i'm recovering from surgery with no family in the area--- so it would be nice to have the option to send him for longer days once in awhile. so... check into that if longer days are something you need...

We went to St. Brigid's - they offer all different types of schedules from 3 half days to 5 full days.

My dd goes to a program at a Unitarian church- it is not religious. They have part time and full time programs. For my dd age group (18 months) they only offer part time- it works out to $16/ hour. They offer several different options for kids age 2-4. For half day two days a week is $2,900, three days a week is $4000 and five days a week is $5400. Full day prices are $5000 (2 days), $6,700 (3 days) and $10,000 (5 days). They also offer early drop off and late pick up for an additional fee.

I am not sure where you are located but a family friend of mine is always raving about the school she sends her kids to, St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton in Bellmore. I am not sure what she pays but she told me they have 3 or 5, half or full days, and aftercare for parents that work.

My kids went to St. Stephens Nursery in Hicksville. It's Lutheran, not catholic. my oldest daughter is in catholic school now though, she's in kindergarten.

They started there in the 2s program. It was 2 days, 2.5/day. Then they went 3 days in the 3s program. And now my middle child goes 5 days 2.5hrs a day and it's $2900 for the year. I forget what I paid the previous years but it's on their website
