Cartlidge piercing
I just got my cartlidge pierced last Friday, so it hasn't even been a week but the pain seems to be getting worse rather than better. Now my ear is super sensitive to touch, even to clean it hurts. Its a little red but not swollen, and doesn't leak or crust up....is this normal pain?? I've been cleaning it 3x a day with the antiseptic they gave me....should I be using something different?

Go to the doctor about this. My wife had it done years ago and she has problems with cartilage deposits to this day. She has to get cortizone(sp?) shots to get them to go down. Not fun at all. Have it looked at asap.

Re: Cartlidge piercing
I had 2 different ones and they both took FOREVER to ‘heal’, the one hurt for like 3 months, but never got infected… the other one was a disaster.
I had an industrial and I had a lot of problems with it. Let me start by saying I had EVERYTHING pierced (except on my face) and the industrial was my last one, and I NEVER had a problem with any other piercing, so it's not like I didn’t know how to care for it. Anyway, it kept getting more red and painful and then it got warm. Then it started to crust. I went to the doctor and it was infected. Just watch it closely, if it starts to get warm or crusty, maybe get it checked out.
I did make a mistake, though, I took it out. When I took it out, the hole closed and it couldn’t drain, so I actually had to have it lanced to drain. I’m not trying to scare you, just telling you my experience and I mention it because for me taking it out was not the best idea, because it wasn’t able to drain.

Re: Cartlidge piercing
I haven't had any leakage or warm sensation (only the first day a little) so I hope I'm good to go.....hopefully the pain lessens a little in the next couple of days....I have a wedding next weekend!! Then I'm getting a second hole on both ears....at least the pain will be over and done with for all three holes by New Years...
