Carseat setup- 2 kids

Just curious if you have two kids how you currently have the car seats set up in your car? I probably have to install my infant carrier base within the next month or so as I get closer to my due date.. and was wondering if i should move DS car seat. He is in a convertible seat and will be almost 3 when this baby arrives. TIA!

I moved DD who was almost 3 to FF and in the driver seat (which is why she moved FF cause my DH wouldn't be able to drive if she was rear facing) and the baby went behind the passenger seat

Dd1 is ff on the passenger side and dd2 now ff on the driver side. I unbuckle did 1 and we walk back around to get dd2. Dd1 is almost 5 so she knows to stay near the car. When she was younger I had her come out the driver side. Sometimes I still do. Sometimes she also gets in from the drivers side. When the seat was rf she would just crawl under it

DD1 is 14m and rearfacing on the passenger side of each of our cars. If I can safely put the infant seat in the middle, I will so that way someone can sit behind the driver but otherwise I'll put the infant seat on the driver side of each car.

Dd is currently behind the passenger in a convertible seat. We are moving her behind the driver side fwd facing and the infant seat will go behind the passanger side. Reasons:
1. I will be able to view the infant seat better while dd can communicate what she wants/needs bc I can't see her as well behind the driver side.
2. The infant seat will have more room on passenger bc when dh drives his seat is farther back.

I have DD who is forward facing behind the passenger and the infant carrier behind the drivers. It did not fit in the middle. The base did but once I snapped the carrier in it didn't fit...

just as an FYI I know it depends on the car but I had the car seat guy install mine and he told me not to put anyone in the middle and that the younger child should go on the passenger side.

I have a van with a bench seat in the middle. My 3yo is behind the driver and the infant seat is next to her. What's nice is i can let the older one in on the passenger side and she walks over to her seat so I can put in the infant seat. Then I go to her side to buckle her in this way they're both out of the parking lot as quickly as possible.

I put the infant seat behind the passenger and my older DS behind the driver seat forward facing.

The infant seat didn't fit comfortably behind the driver.

Re: Carseat setup- 2 kids

I was just having this conversation with DH. The safest spot is in the middle, followed by the passenger side.

We were trying to figure out who gets to go where. Do we decide who is our most favorite child and put them in the safest spot? Do we have them draw straws? Do we put the newest one in the safest spot because the older one already had his chance and who doesn't like new things better than old things?

All kidding aside, DS will go behind the driver because his seat is less bulky, he's FF and he can tell me if there is an issue. The infant carrier is bigger and the passenger seat is more adjustable than the driver's for driving purposes so the infant will go over there. Plus I can see the infant then.

In my car we have the infant seat in the middle and convertible behind the passenger.

In DH's car we have one behind the driver's side and one behind the passenger's side.

In my car, infant seat is behind driver, convertible is behind passenger.

In DH's car, it's opposite b/c he needs more space to sit farther back.
