Carseat for Airplane
We are flying to Seattle tomorrow, it is a 6 hour flight.
DS is 2 and will have his own seat.
Does he need to be in a carseat as well?
My SIL called to tell us she has an extra car seat for him. Which means we could leave ours here and it would be one less item to lug with us.
I just don't know if
1. he can be in just the seat 2. he will stay in just the seat
I thought the car seat will keep him contained when we need him to be.
Since we are flying at night I am hoping he goes to sleep and thought he would be more comfortable laying across the seats between DH & myself.
Not sure what to do..would love to hear what others have done
TIA

Carseat for Airplane
We just went away a couple of months ago. My DD, 2 yrs old, had her own seat. Was not in a carseat. The flight was only 3 hrs so it wasn't that bad but she slept laying her head on my lap.

Re: Carseat for Airplane
We flew with DS this summer at 21 months old. He had his own seat on the plane. We didnt need our carseat on the trip, so we left it here. He was fine. He was able to lay across our laps to sleep. If the pilot turned the seatbelt light on, the flight attendant did ask us to just put the airplane seat belt around him just in case. We ended up just holding him during takeoff and landing. We had ones of the CARES (posted above) harnesses with us but didn't use it. I felt like he was a little too young for it and just wanted to be held or sleep. I could definitely see us using it when he gets a little older and is more into sitting up and playing or reading or whatever.

Re: Carseat for Airplane
We just went to Disney with two 2 year olds and I used these and they were great. I didn't want to travel with two extra car seats. I highly recommend these. My kids sat the whole ride there and back bc they knew they couldn't get up with these on.

I got mine at Buy Buy Baby. And used a coupon I think Babies R Us may have one too.
I liked it because the seatbelt is so loose around them. It didn't bother DS since he is so used to being in a carseat when we travel.
