Re: carseat and winthrop question
nobody checked to see that the base was installed. we actually bought the carseat in to the hospital and carried him out in it so I guess as long as they see the carseat, you're good.

Re: carseat and winthrop question
Mine is not installed either, due Wednesday. With the way carseats clip in now, I figure it's not a big deal at all. Do you really need it checked? I thought it takes like 2 seconds to clip in since you don't use the seatbelt like they used to. That's what my nephew's was at least.

I *think* you can go to BRU or BBB to have someone look at it. I'm sure you can go to your local police / fire station to do it too. I of course would call to double check 1st.
Good Luck! I feel like it was yesterday that you got your BFP

Re: carseat and winthrop question
You have to bring the infant seat into the hospital and carry the baby out in that. They don't check your base for you.
Here's a list of places you can get it inspected.

Re: carseat and winthrop question
I work in Mineola and the Fire Marshall's office is near me. I have seen cars pull up to get their car seats installed. I believe it's free. (County Seat drive in Mineola)
ETA: It's not far from Winthrop

Re: carseat and winthrop question
I delivered at winthrop 2 weeks ago and you do need to have the baby in the carrier/carseat when you carry her out of the hospital for them to release you, but they do not check to see if it installed properly. As a matter of fact, I went to a childcare class at the hospital the day that I was discharged and the nurse giving the class said that legally they cannot check to see if the carseat is installed properly or not because they do not want to be liable.
