Carribean Vacation
Hey guys,
DH and I are thinking of going to the Carribean for a long weekend. We are looking for something nice, but not too expensive. Any recommendations? We have never been to the Carribean so any place would be new to us.

we just got back from a cruise from st. maartin, st. thomas and the Bahamas
IMO if i were to go back for a vaca...i would stay at ATLANTIS!
it was GORGEOUS....love the whole 4 hours i got to stay there

I would probably think that Punta Cana won't be too expensive... I know Apple Vacations has some special, check them out APPLE

Well I know Mexico is not in the Caribbean but I love it there especially the mayan riviera

I have never been on a cruise. I don't know if my 6th month of pregnancy is the best time to try. But thanks for the suggestion! Maybe I'll look into it.
We are trying to do something nice but as economical as possible- with the baby coming, we just one one final vacation just the two of us.

If you were to take a cruise, you would be able to visit a few islands in the Caribbean which are really nice but you'd have to check because they won't let you on board after a certain time in your pregnancy. Not sure exactly how many months.
Saint Lucia is beautiful.
Barbados has beautiful waters....
Saint Thomas...nice waters and great shopping
Saint Maarten.....one of my favorites..beautiful waters and the island I find it so quaint.....you can do great shopping here too.
Puerto Rico.....nice as well....we stayed at the Paradissus Hotel...is a little pricey but if you are only going for a long weekend, maybe able to find good pricing....Absolutely gorgeous and great pool. The beach is not really that nice but the pool makes up for it plus the food is really good and service is really awesome.
Dominican Republic---Might be the cheapest of all them. Nice waters....food is good.
There are different parts to go....
Puerto Plata...is nice and water is nice
Punta Cana....Beautiful....
La Romana....Casa De Campo....very nice as well......
If I think of any other, I'd post again...
We are going to Aruba in January....I can't wait.....

I agree with Red...I was at Atlantis in April and it's a beautiful resort. Unfortunately, it can be expensive so I'm not sure where that might fit in your budget. The Bahamas are great to go to because it's a pretty short flight and coming home, you go through customs before you get on the plane so you don't have to do that when you get home.
