Caring for belly button
Hi ladies... Just wondering if there is any special care for baby's belly button once the stump falls off. My son is 3 and a half weeks old and his stump fell off on Saturday and is still a bit scabby underneath. Should I leave it alone, which is what I've been doing, or put any alcohol on it/clean it? Thanks!

Well, my Ped said it was ok to clean lighty with a cotton swab and warm soapy water.

I used a swab after baths since that area was then moist and easier to get out the dried up blood

I think I cleaned once a day with an alcohol pad. This idiot ped we saw ripped it off to early and it bled a little for a few days.

My ped said to leave it alone, no alcohol or anything. She said we could dab it dry after a bath just not to immerse the belly button in water. It is about to fall off.
